07 Oct 2025- OpenAI adds built-in ChatGPT app integrations (Spotify, Canva, Figma, Zillow, Expedia, Coursera) to control services within conversations; EU rollout delayed, broader developer platform arriving later.
OpenAI has launched a set of built-in app integrations for ChatGPT that let you call up and control external services without leaving a conversation. Early partners include Spotify, Canva, Figma, Zillow, Expedia, and Coursera — each exposing a compact interface inside ChatGPT so the assistant can search, recommend, or act on your behalf while you keep chatting.
Spotify’s integration can link your account, surface albums, generate playlists, and recommend music or podcasts; Canva and Figma let you generate, preview, and refine designs or diagrams inside the chat and then jump into the native editor. Zillow’s app taps listings to show photos, maps, and pricing for rentals and homes for sale (with planned features like 3D tours coming later). Expedia (and Booking.com) provide dynamic hotel and flight options during planning, while Coursera exposes course videos and learning content for on-demand teaching and recommendations.
OpenAI says the apps won’t yet be available to EU users and will open the developer platform more broadly later this year with a browsable directory. Its design guidelines ask that apps be useful, trustworthy, and focused (no long-form content, complex workflows, or ads), giving examples like booking rides, ordering food, checking availability, or tracking deliveries.
