Nvidia and OpenAI have signed a letter of intent for what the newsletter calls “the biggest AI infrastructure project in history.” Under the deal, Nvidia will deploy 10 GW worth of systems—equivalent to millions of GPUs—into OpenAI’s multi‑gigawatt data centers and progressively invest in OpenAI as each gigawatt is brought online. The total potential investment from Nvidia into OpenAI could reach up to $100 billion, with the first gigawatt expected to come online in the second half of 2026 using Nvidia’s next‑gen Vera Rubin platform.
Nvidia’s support includes capital for compute hardware, data center buildout and power needs, and OpenAI has agreed to treat Nvidia as a “preferred strategic compute and networking partner.” The newsletter also notes OpenAI’s ongoing partnerships with Microsoft and Oracle for its infrastructure push. Observers highlighted by the piece warn the arrangement could look like capital circulating among a few large AI players—an “infinite money loop”—even as it secures the compute needed to train and run next‑generation models.
