Apple CEO Tim Cook said the company plans to embed more third‑party AI models into its operating systems, telling CNBC “our intention is to integrate with more people over time.” Apple has already integrated OpenAI’s ChatGPT into Siri, and reports say a Google Gemini integration is in the works. Industry rumors also point to potential partnerships with Anthropic and Perplexity; Craig Federighi previously indicated Apple may “look forward to doing integrations with different models like Google Gemini in the future.”

Cook reiterated that an AI‑upgraded Siri is on track for next year and that Apple is “making good progress” while keeping AI acquisitions on the table—Apple is “open to pursuing M&A if we think that it will advance our roadmap.” The comments accompanied Apple’s fourth‑quarter earnings, which showed a record $102.5 billion in revenue; the company reported $49.03 billion from iPhone sales, $8.72 billion from Macs, $6.95 billion from iPads, and $28.8 billion in services. Despite the recent iPhone 17 launch and hardware refreshes (iPad Pro, MacBook Pro, Vision Pro with M5), Apple’s broader AI plans — including an AI search tool for Siri reportedly discussed with Google — have yet to be fully realized.
