Google is rolling out a set of AI upgrades to Google Photos that bring its conversational editing tools to iPhone users in the US and add more powerful image‑generation and face‑editing features. The “Help me edit” workflow — which lets you describe edits by voice or text and have Google’s AI apply them — is now starting to appear on iOS after previously arriving on Pixel and other Android phones. The update also brings the redesigned editor UI to iPhones, with gesture controls and one‑tap suggestions for quick adjustments.

Face edits are being improved with personalized referencing: Google Photos can look at images in your private face groups to make changes like removing glasses, opening blinked eyes, or inserting a smile that better matches the person in the photo. Google is also integrating its Nano Banana image model to offer new stylistic transformations (paintings, mosaics, illustrations). A new “Ask” button opens a chatbot‑style interface for editing and asking about image content, and Android users get ready‑made AI templates (for prompts like “put me in a high fashion photoshoot”). The “Ask Photos” search tool is expanding to 100+ regions and 17 new languages.
